Legendary Launcher

The usual way to play Relaunch. It sets up Ashita or Windower, writes the Legendary overlay, and keeps names and art current. It never overwrites retail FFXI.

Download LegendaryLauncher.zip

Unzip the folder somewhere you will keep and run LegendaryLauncher.exe. You still need a retail FFXI install.

First time

  1. Install retail or Steam FFXI and let PlayOnline finish patching.
  2. Download the zip above. Extract it.
  3. Run LegendaryLauncher.exe.
  4. Pick Ashita or Windower.
  5. Press Set up Legendary. Let it finish.
  6. Press Update if it asks.
  7. Enter your account and press Play.

If Play is grey, read the line under it. It will say whether FFXI, the hook, XIPivot, or an Update is missing.

What it does

  • Play — Ashita or Windower. The account stays on your PC.
  • Set up Legendary — installs or finishes the hook, XIPivot, Legendary names, Augment Trade, and Augment Browser.
  • Update — writes Legendary names and art into the legendary overlay.
  • Graphics — resolution, window, and quality for the Legendary profile.
  • Addons — install and autoload from the Addons tab.
  • Pivot overlays — Legendary stays first. XiView installs from Settings. FFXI-HD is Get from Nexus, then the launcher unpacks it.
  • Unstick — clears a stuck session and sends the character to Lower Jeuno.

If you already launch the old way

Keep your existing Ashita or Windower install if you want. Point the Legendary Launcher at that folder when it asks. After Setup + Update, legendary should be in the overlay list.

If something looks wrong after an Update, fully quit POL and FFXI, then Play again. Item DATs only remap at boot.

Later launcher builds update themselves. You do not need a new zip each time.
