Getting Started

New here? Here's the path from zero to playing:

  1. Legendary Launcher — the usual path. Download it, pick Ashita or Windower, press Set up Legendary.
  2. Install the Client — retail FFXI first, or the manual Ashita / Windower path if you already have a client.
  3. Connect to the Server — only needed if you are not using the Legendary Launcher.
  4. First Steps — once you're in, this walks you through your first hour: leveling to 99, grabbing starter gear, and unlocking the custom systems.
  5. Your First Session — setup done? This is the core gameplay loop and the rewards that keep you coming back.
  6. Troubleshooting — stuck on a connection, version, or login error? Start here.

If you've played retail FFXI before, the client setup is the same — only the server you point at changes.
